Artist Statement
Inspired by Nature, Crafted by Hand
I create sculptures, vases, and pieces of furniture from ceramics and composite materials, working at the intersection of abstract forms and organic, 'living' shapes. My objects are not intended to depict a specific item or character — I explore an image that emerges from an inner state, experience, or memory, and takes shape during the creative process. It may be something half-familiar, half-alien — like a creature from myth, a dream, or distant folklore.
The central theme of my work is the rethinking of emotions that are often considered 'negative' in culture — feelings of guilt, fear, anxiety. I am interested in how we can change our relationship with them: not to suppress or avoid them, but to listen and allow these states to become allies. I perceive them as guides, navigators through the human inner space, indicating where attention, care, or honesty is especially needed. Through sculpture, I try to reflect this approach — seeing these emotions as part of a complex, multilayered human experience rather than something bad or shameful. References to folk culture also become part of my work. For example, I create objects reminiscent of fantastical creatures — covered in spiky 'fur', looking like an animal, a spirit, or a figure from a children's tale. These forms balance between abstraction and figuration, allowing the viewer to construct their own story and find personal meanings.
