Alexey Karamzin

Clay Artist

I create ceramic sculptures, vases, and pieces of furniture that exist on the border between abstraction and something alive, mythical. In my works, feelings traditionally considered 'negative' — guilt, fear, anxiety — become guides and allies rather than enemies. I aim to show the multifaceted nature of human experience and the world, where nothing is strictly 'bad' or 'good'.
My creative process is intuitive: the material suggests the form, and I follow it. I am inspired by natural textures, folklore, pop culture, and 20th-century sculptors. I value living lines and organic surfaces that retain a sense of movement and breath.
